Your Complete Deep Cleaning House Checklist For Spring : Part 1

Spring is just around the corner, and the warmth in the air has many of us itching to crack open some windows and give our stale homes a good deep clean to usher in the season.
But a thorough deep clean can feel overwhelming. Where to start?
In this three part Spring cleaning series, we will share our best tips and secrets on how to give your home a thorough deep clean.
Get Organized
Before you can tackle the checklist, you need to properly prepare!
Make sure you know what you want out of your spring cleaning and plan for it.
“A true spring clean doesn’t happen overnight, or even over a weekend. After all, you’re busy. And as much as you’d like to, you can’t push pause on work or the kids’ clarinet lessons to take care of home and room organization.
What you can do is map out a plan of attack and get your organization ideas on paper in the form of a daily checklist. Make a list of all your chores. When one is finished, check it off and move on to the next”
Being organized and having a well thought out checklist will make your tasks so much easier.
Declutter
Depending on the size of your home, you may need to spend a few days going through a room or two each day and decluttering before you tackle any cleaning.
In each room, bring in a donation box and a garbage bag. Then go through shelves, drawers, and closets, and decide what you want to keep, give away, or throw away.
This is a great way to get rid of things that you and your family don’t use or need any longer and will set you up for success when you tackle your cleaning.
Be Sure You Have The Right Cleaning Supplies
Go through your cleaning supplies and organize them, while also making a list of things you’ll need for spring cleaning.
Check and make sure you have a good all purpose cleaner, glass cleaner, wood polish, floor cleaner, and plenty of sponges, gloves, rags, and scrub brushes.
This would also be the time to decide if you want to shampoo your carpets. If so, go find a place to rent or buy a carpet cleaner.
Ensure Fire Safety
Spring is also a great time to check each of your fire alarms and carbon monoxide detectors, and change the batteries when necessary.
You’ll also want to make sure your fire extinguisher has not expired..
Now that you’ve decluttered and you have your plan and your supplies in hand, you’re ready to start deep cleaning – stay tuned for your continued deep clean guide in Part 2!
